A brief introductionDaniel Martinez
Historian and TV personality
Daniel Martinez is a noted Pacific War and World War II historian. He is a well-known television personality. He was the host for 36 episodes of Unsolved History for Discovery Channel. Daniel has also appeared on numerous documentaries for The History Channel, National Geographic, The Military Channel and CBS, NBC, ABC, CSPAN and PBS. Recently, he led our tour that retraced the footsteps of John F. Kennedy and the assassination in 1963.
His background in battlefield interpretation is acknowledged nationally. He has led tours to the fields of Gettysburg, Antietam, Little Big Horn, Pearl Harbor, Iwo Jima, Saipan, Tinian and Midway Island. He is an author and contributor of several books and contributes to leading publications on military history.
Torsten Granov
Historian and Director of International Military History Institute
Torsten has written a number of books and has lectured about WW 2 and Nazi Germany in Denmark, Norway and France. His book, Normandy – the prelude, the drama and the aftermath, is available in English.
He is a specialist in WW 2 and in D-day and the Normandy battels. He has visited a great number of battlefields from WW 1 and WW 2 as tour expert guide on military history tours. He speaks English, German and French as well as Danish.

Poul Grooss
Captain, RDN
Served as commanding officer of fast patrol boats and guided missile corvettes in the Baltic during the Cold War however, he spent most of his career in the military intelligence service including a tour as deputy commandant. He attended the Royal Naval Staff College in Greenwich and later became the Danish defence attaché in London and Dublin. He was a teacher of naval strategy at the Royal Danish Naval Academy and of Joint Warfare at the Royal Danish Defence College. After retirement he worked as a military historian at the Royal Danish Defence College. He is an experienced guide on military tours to the Eastern Front, the Pacific, the Normandy campaign and the Battle of Britain. He is a trained Russian linguist and an author of a book about the Second World War in the Baltic area (published in 2014, English edition 2017, Pen & Sword/Seaforth Publishing in cooperation with US Naval Institute).He is a specialist in WW 2 and The Invasion in Normandy D-day. He has visited a great number of battlefields from WW 1 and WW 2 as tour expert guide on military history tours.
